“Working with Leah was a life changing experience. She challenged me to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually. She helped me move from a poor physical condition in a nurturing and caring way that caused me to be more open to growth and change. THAI BODYWORK

Thai Yoga Bodywork is a traditional form of medicine used for over 2500 years in Thailand; it is considered an energy healing modality with profound physiological, emotional, and spiritual effects.

I am trained in the SomaVeda® lineage, a tradition deeply steeped with indigenous wisdom from this continent as well as Southeast Asian medicine ways. This work focuses on finding harmony and wholeness of mind, body and spirit, in the client and the practitioner. I utilize compression, acupressure, range of motion mobilization and subtle energy healing techniques.  It is suitable for rehabilitation, pain relief, stress reduction and general relaxation.

Each session can stand alone as a powerful healing input, leaving you feeling relaxed and embodied for days after your session.

If you are interested in more extensive healing work, I offer a 7 Day Therapeutic Protocol, where we focus deeply on each sen line, affecting your fascial holding patterns to create lasting change in posture, attitude and sense of well-being. Consisting of 7 (75 or 90 min) sessions in close succession, including initial consultation, movement / posture analysis, nutritional and lifestyle coaching and support, as well as access to a weekly Yoga for Nervous System Regulation group zoom class.

PERSONALIZED YOGA

As an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500), I bring extensive training and experience to a personalized yoga session, co-created for your goals and needs. Together, we’ll explore what embodiment really means, and how it can lead you to a fuller sense of liberation. With precise anatomical detail, we look to the body to discern where we have tension, stored traumas, blockages that may inhibit how we show up to our lives. From there, we examine these blockages, and how to apply the tools gained on the mat to daily life.

A session with me ranges from 75-90 minutes, with varying degrees of vigor and an exploration of your edges on physical and subtle levels. Our time together will focus deeply on structure and alignment (how does physical alignment allow for a deeper sense of integrity in how we show up to life?), on breathwork and relaxation, and nervous system regulation.

I bring a trauma-informed container, meaning your felt sense of safety and agency in your body is my top priority. Most sessions incorporate touch-based adjustments informed by my training in Thai Bodywork unless otherwise indicated.

GROUP CLASSES

The same themes of structural alignment and embodiment are carried through into the group context. Offered in various settings including yoga studios, backyards, corporate offices and more, classes can be booked as an ongoing offering or a one-time workshop or series.

Current offerings:

  • Yoga for Nervous System Regulation Tuesdays at 9 am PST. In this gentle, accessible to all yoga class, we'll explore ways of regulating the vagus nerve, which can have a profound impact on our capacity to feel present & empathetic while improving the function of the digestive system and overall feeling of regulation. Throughout this practice, we will move through gentle poses to cultivate somatic awareness & honor what's present physically, emotionally & spiritually, moving toward relaxation and ease.

  • Empowerment Flow, Thursdays 6:15 - 7:15 PM PST. Empowerment Flow is a yoga flow class that focuses on building strength and improving posture and alignment.  Explore playful movement, learn about your body, and safely progress your poses. Bring your curiosity and your willingness to *safely* challenge your limits.  This class will leave you feeling empowered and confident in your practice!

  • Embodied Flow, Saturdays 10:15 - 11:15 AM PST. This weekly practice will explore what embodiment means - how can we use a yoga practice on the mat to understand body-based information and to enhance quality of life off the mat? Come expecting to move through a sometimes vigorous, flowing sequence, exploring functional movement patterns and classic yoga postures. Leave feeling balanced, relaxed and connected to self and your yoga community!

“I have been a Shiatsu Bodyworker and a Tai Chi instructor for over twenty years and Leah's Thai Bodywork is some of the best I've experienced. I feel energized from the acupressure and fully stretched from the Thai she does with my body. I love & highly recommend her work!”

“In Leah's embodied movement class, I had the rare and delightful experience of exploring completely new movement flows, which helped me break out of my ordinary patterns of movement and challenged me to stay present with my body. Leah is a very skilled and loving teacher, and I felt very held through the experience of stretching myself in new ways.”
